Geddes Trout Fishery

Geddes Trout Fishery is located only a few hundred yards from Burnside and Mill Lodges in quiet secluded woodland surroundings. The Fishery is located at the Geddes Dams which were built in 1870 as the main water supply for the town of Nairn and comprise three separate Lochs, one for bait, one for fly and one for coarse fishing. The Fishery is  a Registered Troutmaster Water and Robbie is a Member of the North of Scotland Still Water Fisheries Association.

 

The insect life at the Fishery is abundant and create a challenge for the

 "Match the Hatch" type of fly fisher.

The record catch to date is 20 lb 6oz

The Fishery Hut

At the Fishery Hut, rods can be hired, snacks and drinks are available, and there is a B-B-Q where you can cook your own food and where toilets are available.

The Coarse fishing Loch is a 2 1/2 acre Loch stocked with Carp, Roach and Perch and is located at the top of the Fishery in a secluded area.

The Fishery is open all year and free tuition is available from the experts and children are welcome!

The Fishery is stocked on a weekly basis to ensure a good continuity of fish and on the 51/2 and 21/2 acre fly lochs you can fish for Blue, Brown, Tiger and the hard fighting Rainbow from bank platforms or boat.
