Burnside and Mill Lodges are situated only 4 miles from the seaside town of

Nairn and 16 miles from Inverness, the Highland Capital. Country walks and a

secluded trout fishery are on the door step, and there are a great many

other attractions in the local area.

Burnside Lodge

Both Lodges are maintained to a high standard and are suitable for disabled visitors with ramped accesses, wide doors for wheelchairs and grab rails in the bathroom. Burnside has a paved area in front while Mill Lodge has a timber deck, both with picnic tables. Ample parking is available immediately adjacent to each Lodge.

Mill Lodge

The lounge. dining and kitchen are all open plan. The lounge area has colour television, DVD player and Freeview.

The kitchen is well equipped with full size electric cooker, fridge freezer, microwave, washing machine and tumble drier, toaster etc.

The immediate area around the Lodges has much bird life, including a resident heron and swan, red squirrels are very often seen in the trees surrounding the Lodges.

Local supermarkets are located in Nairn and Inverness are normally open daily until 7pm and all day Saturday and Sunday.

Things to see and do

Each Lodge accommodates up to six persons and have been designed to cater for disabled persons, with family or carer assistance. The accommodation comprises three bedrooms, two which are twin bedded and the third being a bunk room with adult sized bunks. Each Lodge has a well proportioned bath/shower room sized and laid out with disabled persons in mind.

Internal Accommodation

All beds are provided with duvets, and bed linen is provided at no extra cost. Towels and dish towels are also supplied at no extra cost. An iron and ironing board also available in each chalet. Heating is by electric panel heaters. Hot water is by immersion heater and the electricity supply is via a Ł1 coin meter. A cot and high chair are available on request and without charge. Whilst we welcome parties with a dog at no extra cost we cannot, for the comfort of those who follow, accept more than one dog without prior agreement and which due to the proximity of farm animals must be kept under control at all times.

The surrounding area has many castles, golf courses and visitor attractions such as Fort George, Cawdor Castle, Brodie Castle and the famous Urquhart Castle beside Loch Ness. Nairn has beautiful sandy beaches, indoor swimming pool, sailing, craft and antique shops, and the Nairn Games are held every August.
